I searched for a man among them who would repair the wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land so that I might not destroy it, [...] (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
Intercessory (in’ter·ces’so·ry) the act of one person praying or petition to God in behalf of another.
Prayer (prâr) Prayer is entering into a relationship with God, so we can determine His will in the matter and call His will into existence upon the earth. Prayer is an unselfish work that is often unseen and unappreciated by others; they only experience the results.

The True Vine MedTeam is a group of trained medical personnel whose primary purpose is to provide immediate first aid and/or medical assistance to members and guest of the True Vine Baptist Church family until they have reached a level of stability or until emergency medical services arrive. We provide general advice and preventative information related to spiritual and physical health issues. We do not dispense any medication (over the counter or prescription). During the worship service, we are stationed at the back of the church against the wall by the two chairs between the usher seats and the audio ministry. MedTeam staff members wear name tags that easily identify them and check in with the ushers prior to worship service so that they are aware of our availability on Sundays. We perform free blood pressure checks the second Sunday of each month following the 10:45 am service. We also hold an annual health fair. Look for health tips and disease highlights in upcoming newsletters. The ministry has members from various medical backgrounds (RNs, LVNs, medics, EMTs, surgical techs, etc). If you have a background in this or another medical area and are willing to serve in this vital ministry please contact: Matthew Turnbo Linda Clemons Audrey Johnson This ministry meets the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10:00am at True Vine. We welcome all who have a heart for this ministry.

In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ, having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead. Colossians 2:11-12 (NIV)
Every Third Sunday 10:00AM This special service held on the third Sunday of each month, is dedicated to the Baptism of those who have given their lives to Jesus Christ and wish to put their old sinful nature to death and to be resurrected to a brand new life (Romans 6:3-4, Acts 22:16).
The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, they raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang!

Senior’s Silver Cross Class meets on Saturday mornings at 8 a.m. until 9 a.m.
We are a highly motivated group. The structure of the class is easy-going and allows you to work out at your own pace. The two instructors provide guidance and motivation and challenge you to do your best. A balance of stretch and relaxation, cardio, weight training and walking make for an enjoyable time spent early each Saturday morning.
The mind-set of our group is “Don’t worry about what has been or what is, but what is the outcome of your efforts.” It is a prayerful group that recognizes that without God in the plan, there is no plan. A prayer before and after each class helps to guide each member through their journey.
Offering Food To Those In Need. The minsitry of the True Vine Food Bank is to model the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by providing food to the hungry and needy. This effort is carried out by our volunteer work force using donated non-perishable food. Assistance is provided on a per case basis. In all cases, modeling the loving and compassionate character of Jesus is to be as much a part of our mission as the tangible food that we give. Deacon Joseph Moss moss2@satx.rr.com 684-6123

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
True Vine Baptist Church San Antonio was established in the home of Reverend Jesse Grice and his wife, Queen Elizabeth in July 1993. The church originated as a family devotion but as new attendees were added, it rapidly grew into a Sunday School and Christian fellowship.
As fellowship increased in size, prayer began in earnest and pastoral counseling was sought for a permanent structure to hold Sunday worship services. God answered those prayers and the True Vine Baptist West Mission was born at 7500 Eckhert Road, San Antonio, Texas.
With nearly 1200 square feet of space, the 19-member church began its ministry offering Sunday school, morning worship and a Wednesday night Bible study to its parishioners and community.
New bylaws and church constitution were written and adopted and the church was incorporated in October 1999. During this process, the name was changed from True Vine Baptist West Mission to True Vine Baptist Church San Antonio. Early in the year 2000 the church increased its facility space by another 1100 square feet to house a child-learning center and nursery.
On March 23, 2003, we planned and held an outdoor service in the new Potranco location parking lot. The following Saturday, March 29, the church gathered together in celebration, to move its belongings from 7500 Eckhert Road into the new facility at 9900 Potranco Rd. On April 6, 2003, the first service was held inside the new church building.
Praise be to God!

"They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.” (NIV) Acts 2:46-47
The Hospitality Ministry plays a vital role in the church by ministering to the physical nourishment of the congregation. Sharing a meal together in a loving atmosphere creates an environment of fellowship, which in turn ministers to our emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. Serving and ministering to others in essence is the vocation of Christianity. Caring for others with a heart of compassion is modeled in Jesus’ ministry. Although the act of caring presents itself in many forms at True Vine, the Hospitality Ministry is the epitome of “selflessly serving” others.
Offering communion, song and companionship to nursing home residents. There is an old hymn that goes some- thing like this: “If I can help somebody as I pass along, if I can reach somebody with a word or a song. Then my living shall not be in vain.” I may not remember it exactly how “Gram-maw” used to sing it, but I hope you get the sentiment I’m trying to convey. The Care Home Ministry is an extraordinary experience. When you leave the nursing home, you will feel that your living is not in vain. We go to minister and bless, but the rewards far outweigh our actions. After our service ends, we greet the residents. During out last visit to the Princeton Place Rehab and Nursing Center, there was a man in a wheelchair who could not speak plainly; he just sort of mumbled. As I greeted this gentleman, he tried to talk to me. I smiled real big and said, “I can’t understand you, but God knows what you are saying. Thank you for coming to the service, and may God bless you.” He managed a slight smile that just melted my heart. So I gave him a great big ’ol True Vine hug. The next man I greeted was one of the regulars. After I hugged him and asked how he was, he said to me, “You are always smiling. You always have a big smile,” “...when you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you...” to which I replied “That’s ‘cause I’m so happy to be here.” So he proceeded to sing to me, “When you’re smiling, when you’re smil- ing, the whole world smiles withyou.” That just made my day. Those are just a couple of examples of what we experience every time we go. If you have a heart to be a blessing in this way, join us every fourth Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Princeton Place Rehab and Nursing Center at 7602 Louis Pasteur Drive. For more details, contact our ministry leader, Deacon Thomas Hawkins, at (210) 444-9398. We would love to have you join us, and as we always say, “If you come to be a blessing, you will get blessed.” Then “your living WILL NOT be in vain”

Essence of Praise dancers are consistent in what we call the “Powerful P’s” — prayer, praise and practice.
Consistency brings result every time. Consistent prayer brings power, consistent praise brings peace and
consistent practice brings perfection. We continually grow together as a family through fellowship; we study
our Bibles, pray for and with each other and encourage one another.
We worship and praise dance not only at the Baptismal services every third Sunday but also
at the 7:30 a.m. service every fifth Sunday.

Psalm 100: 1 tells us to “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord.”
The Sound Tech Team plays a vital role in that process every week during church services. We are the behind-the-scenes crew of dedicated servants who serve with fervor and zeal unto the Lord. We ensure only the best sound quality is experienced by those attending service. In addition to Sunday service, we serve during the Wednesday night Bible Study and other scheduled programs. We also produce quality CD recordings of each service.
The Sound Tech Ministry is currently seeking new members. Previous experience is not necessary.
We will train all volunteers.

The usher ministry is the first to meet and greet visitors and guest at the sanctuary door. We direct the congregation to a comfortable seat.
Our purpose is to offer encouragement and to keep church leadership informed of anyone in need of special assistance or prayer; to prevent isolation from the Body of Christ; to reach out and keep in touch with those who are chronically absent...due to illness, a crisis or lack of encouragement.
Many of us think of the Visitation and Care Ministry as a group of individuals that send out cards or call to “check on us” when we’re ill. It turns out that that is not the case at all. In fact, one of the core values of the Visitation and Care Ministry is “need fulfillment”. Visitation and Care is the church’s response to the compassionate people who have reached out to those in need. From the one-on-one visits to sending special emphasis cards, this ministry is effectively working to show people the love of God.
